Hello friends,
It has been a disgraceful amount of time since my last post, and it has been an even more disgusting about of time since my last gym visit. I won't even try to count my 3 trips to the Carnival cruise gym, because let's be real, a 10 minute job and a 25 minute steam/sauna just doesn't count.
But it is New Year's Eve and what better time to come back to a fitness goal than tonight!
I made a promise to myself and to the awesome staff at Evolution Fitness to get myself in shape and exemplify my own self conquest. I have one more month in my fitness challenge and that will start tomorrow morning! I will have my third and final fitness assessment and mile time trial on February 1 and I hope to reach my goal of breaking 7 minutes in the mile and shedding a few more inches all around!!
Thanks to everyone who has been so supportive of me in my efforts to accomplish these goals. I won't let you down, and most importantly I won't let myself down!
Wow...that was sappy. Ok enough of that!
Have a wonderful evening everyone! Don't drink and drive, AAA will give you a free tow if you call tonight, other local cab companies are offering rides as well so no excuses to be a dumbass. Don't drink and drive!
Peace!

Turkey Trot and EvoFit Door Buster!
Hello friends!
The great news of today has two parts! First of all I got my lazy buns back to the gym after a week and half off (but I was dancing I swear!) AND my love Michael joined Evolution Fitness today! And by today I mean veeeeery early this morning, at like 5am! He joined the ranks as a post-turkey carving deal craving maniac and jumped in on the 50% off deal that Evolution Fitness had for those brave souls able to make their commitment to join by 5am!
So we went together to commemorate the occasion and we had a wonderfully sweaty work out! I did 80 twists with the medicine ball while sitting against the wall in a squat (oh the burn!!!), I did 80 crunches up with the medicine ball, 80 calf raises, 80 squats, 80 tricep curls, and 80 of those things where you lay down and hold your partner's feet and then lift your legs up and they throw your feet down for a mad core work out! I also ran a bit, as you can see below :)
So I am proud to be back into it- I need to get my next assessment done early next week, very nervous! And also since 9 to 5 is over I am now focusing in on the next big show! The Our Fabulous Variety Show's Holiday Spectacular Spectacular!
Here is a sneak peak at one of our favorite numbers that we are bringing back!
And our Fabulous Promo form last year! Still working on this year's :)
Have a lovely night!!

9 to 5!
The show has begun! This has meant a slight decrease in my trips to the gym.... BUT the show is going famously :)
So I know my work outs are paying off because none of these outfits fit me when we started rehearsals in September!! My next fitness assessment is coming up on November 20th, so I need to head out for a run right now and then off to teach tap, teach dances for
Our Fabulous Variety Show's Holiday Spectacular Spectacular
and then rehearse with A&G Dance Co.! Woo!

Election Eve at Evolution Fitness!
Monday November 5
Hello friends!
I am so completely immersed in tech week for 9 to 5 I have been horrible about keeping you all updated on my progress. I just finished and posted two blogs about the past couple weeks! Now to stay current, let's chat about yesterday!
Election Eve! Half of facebook is excited for the election to be over so they can be rid of the constant stream of commercials, posts, and photos about everything in the political spectrum, half of facebook could give a poo, another half is excited and pushing for their candidates, and the smartest half is wondering where I got so many halves! ;)
I would rather read my script and practice lyrics and parts until I know them in my sleep than spend time sifting through the propaganda to find the truth. I want to add more layers of symbolism to the movements, tighten up the dances, and make sure that I know where I'm going in my upcoming show! I am voting the following way for the following reasons:
Obama- because if Romney wins I will lose my health insurance
Bridget Fleming for NY State Senate because my boyfriend Michael is financial director for the campaign and I love him and want him to have a job on November 7.
BUT- you guys didn't come here to talk politics so let us get back to the REAL WORK! (jokes people, don't hate) ;)
All right Monday! Monday was a day of reps reps reps!
80 squats
80 push ups (without stopping!!!)
80 military presses
80 bicep curls
80 full sit ups
80 side to side crunches with a medicine ball
80 jumping jacks
80 dead lifts
80 swings
And yes- these are all done with little or no weight, but as a dancer I am not looking to bulk up. Jason is working with me to get to my personal goals- lean muscles and less fat! I was sweating like a tall glass of iced tea on a hot summer day by the time I left, which is what I love most about working out!

Sandy and the Hurricanes
My week with Sandy
Sunday October 28- Storm prep begins
We decided to cancel our dance rehearsal for this evening as the wind was picking up, skies were ominous, and the weather forecasters were using "VERY BAD" to describe our best case scenario. Unfortunately they weren't wrong, things were definitely very bad for very many people.
Evolution Fitness was closed on Monday but on Tuesday October 30 I got a text from Jason letting me know the gym was open! Of course I knew this meant, I don't care if you have power, get your butt down here and work out! Which I did.
Confession time! I texted Jason on Sunday and asked for a work out that I could do at home on Monday. He responded with a great work out, several exercises to do 70 times each, and I promised I would do it. When I got to the gym and started warming up on Tuesday he asked how my workout went...and I had to confess that the unexpected day off trapped in our house, I spent it on my butt, not working out my butt. LAZY! But I made up for it with penance. I did my work out that he sent over,
70 squats
70 still leg deadlifts 5lbs
70 calf raises 5lbs
70 CrossFit push-ups
70 dumbbell curls 5lbs
70 dumbbell bent rows 5 lbs
70 over head tricep extensions 5 lbs
70 dumbbell shoulder presses 5 lbs
70 full sit ups
70 jumping jacks
Wednesday October 31 I went in for personal training at 8am and after an hour of personal training I STAYED for the class that he taught right after! The personal training today consisted of some squats to warm up, and then laps in the parking lot. How many laps? I will give you 1 guess!!! 70 times I sprinted 80-90% effort to the end and then jogged back at 40%! We got to about 10 and I was like, there is no way he is really going to make me run back and forth 70 times. But still everytime he asked how I was doing I said, "great!" and on we pushed! Around 50 reps he even said,
"You make this look easy!"
Ha! I think I make sweating look easy and I think I freaked out the people at the bank next door ;)
But I felt really great afterward! Jason's class did a lot of core work outs, my favorite was a set of balances on the Swiss ball. First to sit on it with nothing touching the floor, just find the balance. Second to get on it on hands and knees and balance. Finally to get up on your knees and lean all the way up! The first round was pretty poor on my end, but I did manage to hold up in the third stance for a bit at the end!
Another triumph- I really steered clear of (most) Halloween candy this year! Baby steps ;)
Friday November 2 Another day of personal training! We tackled my pathetic arms in this work out and pulverized the muscles with pull ups! Granted I was on the pull up machine that you step on and had the max counter weight on, but DANG this was hard. And I have been sore from it for 4 days!!
Also there is a new number...just as I was getting used to 70, Jason bumps it up to 80!!!! So 80 pull ups it was! 80 squats with more weight, dead lifts, and swings. I also learned a new exercise that combines a dead lift, a squat, and a press but I can't remember the name exactly. I'll ask Jason tomorrow when I am in! Needless to say I am still sore, but I love being sore!

Hello All!
I am finally back online after Sandy! The week felt like a month without internet, and I imagine it is feeling more like years to those still without power or worse :( Evolution Fitness is still opening their doors to everyone, members and non, if you need to recharge or get a hot shower! And Hamptons Mouthpiece, various churches, and other generous people have been collecting donations for everyone in need. I cleaned out a good trash bag full of warm clothes and 4 other bags full of blankets and toiletries from my house and got it to Riverhead today. I still wish there was more that I could be doing! If anyone needs anything please don't hesitate to ask :)
As for my training, my internet may have been down but my drive was most certainly not! Let's take it back to my first personal training date-
Wednesday October 24!!
We started with an "easy" 70 squats with just body weight. My jaw dropped, "70!?" Jason smiled, laughed and said, "Yea, nothing too crazy!" I was hoping I had misheard him and he was really trying to say 17...but alas!
So squat I did, and as soon as I was finished he handed me a 9 pound body bar and told me to do some squats, say 70?
And so it went until I had done not just 70, not 140, but 280 squats!!!! And you know what? I DID IT! I didn't think I could do 20, and here I was finishing my 280th. Not to mention 4 sets of 35 EvoFit push ups! (All the way to the ground, lift hands, then push up)
And boy did I feel it the next few days!
Thursday October 25
No personal training today, I recovered and led a 4 hour long dance rehearsal for 9 to 5!!! I wasn't sure if I'd be able to tap dance, but once I warmed up I was tapping better than ever :)
Friday October 26
Boy if I thought that 280 squats was a feat, Jason thought it was was just the beginning! 560 squats, 3 sets of 70 light bench presses, and some swings later I was dripping sweat like someone poured a water bottle on my head.
Gross! But not as gross as that evening when I got MY HAND CUT OFF!!!!
It was such a fun experience working at Mulford Farm with Kate Mueth and Josh Gladstone!! I was honored to be asked and had an absolute blast with everyone :) Especially freaking people out by squirting them with my "blood"!!!
Saturday October 27
Another recovery day! But spent the evening scaring families at Mulford Farm!

Sunday: New Paltz apple picking!
Hello!
As you can see by the count down, Sunday was supposed to be my fitness assessment. I even scheduled it with Jason completely forgetting the very important surprise Michael and I had planned for his sister Jessica! We arrive in New Paltz where she goes to school around 11:50pm on Saturday and surprised her at her dorm! We went down to see her last performance of Crimes of the Heart, her first main stage production (a very big deal for a sophomore to be cast and we are all so so proud!!!).
So I missed my fitness assessment, and I'm hoping I can catch up today. Either way I'm going in about 2 minutes to have my butt kicked either way!
The show was very fantastic and Jessica was absolutely hysterical. The set was gorgeous, kudos to the design and building teams! The eldest sister was spot on, the other two had great moments but biases aside, Michael describes Jessica's acting better than anyone, "It is a transcendent experience to watch her act."
I love it :)
We also went apple picking and since I was a bad girl and missed my gym time we forwent the hayride and walked up the huge hill to the orchard. It was a nice time, didn't really get ot pick any apples from trees but we did pick some winners from the bins. Upstate is just so gorgeous. We had a really excellent time :)
I will check back in later after my gym time today! AND THEN I'M GOING TO SEE RUSH TONIGHT!!!! That is literally the highlight of my year. Going to kick major BASS DRUM! WOOO.

Friday! Rehearsal Day and Saturday ZOMBIE DAY
Hello all,
Forgot to mention that after the spin class I worked, then ran straight off to a 4.5 hour long rehearsal. There was a photo shoot for the press (pictures for which I am VERY excited to see, Meagan, Becca, Amanda and I had a ton of fun posing in front of fans, creating tableaus, and just being very silly in general), we danced and are now down to 2 full cast numbers and 2 duets that still need to be blocked! That is a lot of work, but in a show with 17 numbers I am proud of where we are so far! (Don't miss 9 to 5 presented by RFCT! November 9, 10, 11, 16, and 17! Message me for details). We also had a great 2 hour block of singing with Bobby, my hero and a brilliant man who got us singing like we've never sung before!!!.....great!!! hahaha ;) But really, he was able to pull out what we already had, he gave us the confidence to make it work and the whole cast was very very grateful.
Friday brought a day chock full of meetings to plan the Holiday Spectacular Spectacular variety show, a nice tap rehearsal with Gail to finish teaching her the choreography for Drummer Boy Which can be seen here Click me!) and then we rehearsal for A&G Dance Co for the ZOMBIE MOB!
The Zombie mob happened on Saturday and was just the best time. We were set up in front of the Spooky Walk entrance in Center Moriches. Adam had his whole PA system at the ready and we zombified ourselves to the max.
We danced from 6:45 until Michael came to pick me up at 8:30. We did the dance about every 5-10 minutes and ended up sharing our zombie-ness, Adam's song, and Gail's choreography with over 4,000 people!! It was absolutely great. And while the dancing was fun, I think the best part was freaking people out in the crowd in between shows, hahaha.
There are some great videos and more photos on Adam Baranello's facebook page, like it and check them out!

The Zombie mob happened on Saturday and was just the best time. We were set up in front of the Spooky Walk entrance in Center Moriches. Adam had his whole PA system at the ready and we zombified ourselves to the max.

And Gail thought I looked too "sexy zombie"...I think this is pretty hideous hahaha :)
There are some great videos and more photos on Adam Baranello's facebook page, like it and check them out!
Thursday
Hello!
You will never believe it. I actually did my Wednesday run (4 miles) and I did Mirna's Corflex class! And on top of that I was up and at the gym at 8am on Thursday to do another class with Mirna- spin! It was great, I always know I'm in the right class when I can literally watch the sweat rain off my face and splatter onto the handlebars. (Don't worry- I always wipe down my equipment after, haha)
What I am enjoying most about the few spin classes I have taken at Evolution is the music and the fact that we keep pace with the songs. It is so intense looking in the mirror at the 5-10 bikes lined up side by side and seeing everyone pedaling at exactly the same rate. We increase the resistance but keep the beat.Very fun, I highly recommend it! I dragged my mom and boyfriend along with me, I think they had a good time too :)

Sweat Day- 3 days until next fitness assessment!
Hello all!
Today is designated sweat day. I didn't sweat yesterday. I need to crank it up today and make up for my day missed!
Monday I was introduced to the painful, intense, and incredibly difficult practice of Bikram yoga. I went to Hot Yoga in Bridgehampton and for 90 minutes was in a sweat filled haze of shiva sena, stretches, strength, and dehydration. Note to self- next time I go to yoga, must be hydrated!!
I now start my countdown to my next fitness assessment! As a refresher here is where I was a month ago and my goals for my 1 month bench mark!
Height- 5'5"
Weight- 150
Measurements
Neck- 13"
Chest- 36.25"
Arm- 11.5"
Forearm- 9"
Waist- 32.5"
Belly Button- 33.5"
Hips- 38.75"
Thigh- 19.5"
Calf- 13.75"
BMI
Body Fat- 29%
Lean Mass- 106.5 lbs
Fat Mass- 43.5 lbs
Fitness Tests
Blood Pressure- 97/65 (Which seems low so we are going to keep an eye on it)
Resting Heart Rate- 61 BPM
Step Test Heart Rate (after 1 minute of steps)- 92 BPM
Step Test Heart Rate (after 3 minutes of steps)- 116BPM
1 Mile Test Heart Rate- 8:10 mile, 168BPM
Bench Press- 70lbs
Leg Press- 270lbs
Push Ups- 12 in 1 minute
Sit Ups- 18 in 1 minute
Yikes. Ok.
During this first month of my EvoFit challenge I have taken advantage of two aspects of Evolution Fitness. The mentality and the classes. I took the mental challenge of committing to making a change in my diet and exercise to get into better fitness and that is my self conquest. I have also attended classes by Andre, Jason, Ute, and Mirna- all of which completely kicked my butt and challenged muscles I didn't even know I had!
But I need to step it up a notch. During my next month I will utilize the personal training aspect and show how important it is to have a trained professional guiding your work out! I'll also try more of Jason's EvoFit recipes.
Today I have a tap dance session with my good friend Bobby, then I plan to run and attend Mirna's CoreFlex class (hopefully this time I can do more of the exercises without the simplifying modifier!) and then back to rehearsal for 9 to 5 at RFCT!
For breakfast I had two eggs and a glass of dark chocolate almond milk. It was perfection! Now I am chugging water because I think I am still dehydrated from yoga!
More later, thanks all!

2 Steps Forward...
Hello friends!
All right, I confess. I have had an off couple of days. I have been running and dancing, but I have not been to the gym! If I haven't already proven the point that Evolution Fitness can help you reach your goals- well now I have proven it to myself. I can't do this alone, and that's why I set this up to hold myself accountable to everyone and anyone who wants to click my blog. And I set myself up with a great support system at the gym. I spent the first 2 weeks working out, making progress, and doing great. In the last week I have been trying to do things on my own, and I've been backsliding since!
Tomorrow morning I WILL get back on track. A couple images that inspired me this week were posted by Jason.
This photo is great because even though I'm feeling a slump, I don't have to mail in my whole challenge. I get back on track and keep on working.
And this one is fantastic. No more thinking that I can do a few crunches before bed or dance my way back into shape. I dance all the time- if it were working I wouldn't need this challenge!
Ok- so for everyone who sees this, I WILL be at EvoFit drills with Jason at 9am and Coreflex with Mirna at 10! I will I will I will I will!
Good night!

Holiday Weekend!
Hello all!
Hope you had a lovely holiday weekend!! Hope you took some time to think about what the holiday was about too; facebook had some good information. Christopher Columbus, Amerigo Vespucci, our nation's dwindling native population. I don't know nearly enough on the subject, but it is important during these types of holidays to think about more than the day off school or work.
Saturday I did a ton of dancing, practiced my tap routines, started choreography on the Our Fabulous Variety Show Holiday Spectacular Spectacular and danced the night away with my love in Stony Brook seeing a very talented friend's band!
Sunday I took a recovery day! Woo!
Monday I was feeling down. Just kind of dreary to match the dreary day. I went out to do a run and my ankle started to spasm and I almost just walked home because I wasn't feeling it but I decided to stretch and warm it up a bit and it finally loosened up. I thought about just jogging lightly for a block or so and calling it a work out and then I remembered the commitment that I made to myself, and to Evolution Fitness to be their EvoFit Loser. I gritted my teeth, cranked some tunes, and took off.
I ran to my favorite place, Duckwalk Vineyards. 5.3 miles up tempo and NO WALKING! Woo!
I would not have started the run, let alone persevered through the stiff muscles and bitter wind if it hadn't been for my Evolution Fitness challenge.
Michael and I rounded off the night with a healthy round of sushi from Suki Zuki and fresh squeezed limeade with no sugar! A great start to a wonderful week :)
Thanks to all! Here's to personal conquest!

A temptation of an evening!
Hello all!
Ok I am reeeeeally feeling the effects of cutting out my daily splurges. I am so fortunate to have a great support system at Evolution Fitness and with my friends and especially my wonderful boyfriend Michael. He has taken on the healthy diet challenge with me and I am so glad because I would have cheated 100 times if he hadn't.
If you knew my mother you would know that our pantry is a serious diet death trap! Recees, chocolate, M&Ms, Snickers, Kit Kats, a freezer full of 10 varieties of ice cream (and yes I am currently drooling just thinking about it). It is so hard to go in to grab a can of no salt added corn and skip past the yummy yummy bag of marshmallows.
But I did it! And the even bigger challenge was at a fund raising event for Bridget Fleming. Michael is the finance director for her campaign, and absolutely brilliant at it. The event had gorgeous looking sandwiches full of cheese, dressing, and carbs. They had these little egg rolls with a sweet and sour dipping sauce, and chocolate dipped shortbread cookies.
And guess how much of it I ate?
NONE!! Woo hoo!!! I know that eventually when I am back on track and in shape I can have little splurges here and there. But for now I have to be strict because I am bad at having just one snack. I end up eating the whole box of Oreos (Which is what got me here!).
But I did it, I did not do a great job working out, but again it was a lovely eating day. Back to the gym tomorrow!

Wednesday
Hello! Wednesday held meetings, a great carb free dinner with the marvelous Emma Ballou, and a hard core dance rehearsal for the musical 9 to 5! So excited to be choreographing my very first musical and even more excited that I have such talented dancers to work with!
I had another day with no carbs, no salt, not even fruit. All veggies and some protein. Black beans, a special chili that I made with mushrooms, tomatoes, corn, kidney beans, peas, onions, and ground beef!
We did have a could glasses of Gatsby Red wine from Duckwalk Vineyards! That is becoming an evening tradition with us. So yummy.
I didn't make it to Evolution Fitness today and I won't have time tomorrow either. This is the hard part, living healthy and exercising even when you don't have time to make it to the gym. Also the hard thing is knowing that the gym is open at 5am so in reality I have NO excuses! Ok, I pledge to do better in the days to come, and in the meantime I am eating healthy and exercising at my rehearsals!!
More tomorrow. Have a great day!

Debate Night!
Hello all,
Just got home and I'm watching the Presidential Debate with Michael.
Romney- guess what, there is no such thing as "clean coal."
And I now understand why your focus is not on higher education. Keep the middle class just smart enough to graduate high school and get a couple minimum wage jobs. Keep them making enough to afford a night out at Ruby Tuesday's and enough beer to get a buzz every evening. BUT- Keep them just dumb enough to work to make sure that the upper crust can afford their mansions on the ocean.
HEY ROMNEY SHUT UP. Thanks. Listen to your nice moderator. And quit threatening to kill Big Bird!
Anyway, enough about the President Obama and his stoned running mate, and back to the topic at hand... ME! I am proud to announce that I have lost 5 pounds since I started my challenge!
I am feeling more energetic and I am not feeling my 3-4pm slump like I used to.
I had a great work out at my tap classes tonight! Wonderful cardio and my abs still burn from Ute's class on Monday!!!

Iiiiiii'm Baaaack!
Hello!
What a weekend! I had the honor of planning the Southampton Publick House's Oktoberfest celebration complete with dances by the Our Fabulous Variety Show Players, songs by AM Radio and Charly Notturno, and excellent food and beer! I also had the great joy of being the bride in the Southampton Historical Museum's 1851 re-enactment wedding ceremony of Elizabeth Fordham and George White!
My apologies for being out of commission the past couple of days! But I had my recovery day, I ate extraordinarily well today and tomorrow I get back to hot yoga and the gym!
I can honestly say that I am already feeling so much better than I imagined I would during this challenge. I'm not to my goals yet, but the work outs and the healthy eating are slowly becoming part of my daily routine. I open the fridge for a snack and I'm not instantly disappointed when all I see are carrots, celery, and almond milk. Ok I have never been disappointed by almond milk, that stuff is fantastic! But now the veggies are a nice sight as well.
Today I had eggs, onions and asparagus for breakfast. For lunch I had half a can of Progresso chicken noodle soup, celery, and a salad with apples, sprout and balsamic vinegar (no oil!). And for dinner Michael and I had some bratwurst (we are still in an Oktoberfest mood from Friday), but we skipped the buns! I had mine with black beans and rice and he had his solo. We also had a nice big salad and some amazing Gatsby Red wine from Duckwalk Vineyards! I just joined their wine club and I'm glad I did, I always feel better with a glass of red wine than a beer. Not to dis beer, I love beer. Beer and I are very tight. But beer and my belly are having a fight right now so I'm trying to give them some time apart from each other.
I am 11 days in to my 3 month challenge and I am feeling really good about reaching my goals!
December 20th is my completion date... 81 more days!

In Theaterland we call this "Hell Week"
Hello!
Apologies for missing you yesterday and Tuesday, let me catch you up and apologize in advance because I will probably not be back until Sunday after this. I am the proud event planner in charge of the Oktoberfest at the Southampton Publick House and the blushing bride in the Southampton Historical Museum's 1851 Harvest Day Wedding Re-enactment! Two awesome projects and I hope you can all come out to have a beer and some wedding cake with me this weekend!
Tuesday: Breakfast- Naked Protein, which I drank after a great workout with Jason at Evolution Fitness! I did another EvoFit Intervals class, I think that is my favorite work out class I've ever taken! I love that it is a new challenge every 60 seconds, I pushed myself so hard and it didn't even feel like work because we were on to the next thing so quickly. But I know I worked because it is Thursday and I'm still sore!
Wednesday:
Started out the day with an interview on the Eclectic Cafe with Bonnie Grice! Emma Ballou, the woman behind the Wedding Re-enactment this Saturday and I were on air with Bonnie, and as always, it was a wonderful time. I got to tell my favorite joke about how I'm going to switch out the actor for a real minister and trick Michael into marrying me for real! hahaha, I'm a riot I know! ;)
I had 2 eggs over easy, some wheat toast, and grapefruit juice for breakfast. I did not make it to the gym but I did have 4 different dance, band, and acting rehearsals so I was running all day.
Lunch was a salad with sprouts and an apple with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
Dinner was again not so great...Barrister's Bail Out Burger. (Which, to be fair, once I added bacon and avocado was not any cheaper than a burger at Fellingham's and Fellingham's has the far superior burger so we will be going there next time!) (Also yes, I know that I should not have added bacon...I also should not have gotten fries....AHHH!! Eating healthy is so hard sometimes!)
Which brings us to today.
Thursday!
For breakfast I had 1 egg over easy, a greek yogurt parfait, and grapefruit juice. I am literally putting on my shoes to run out the door to work from 10:30-4, then I have rehearsal from 5-6:30 for the wedding, then rehearsal in Riverhead for 9 to 5 from 7-8:30, then rushing home to squeeze in one last band practice before Oktoberfest tomorrow! So if I don't see you again until Sunday, my apologies. I will try to tweet some pictures and updates from my phone @inflateabunny (follow me!) and I will see you all in a couple days!

For dinner Michael and I splurged a bit with pizza. I know, I really did not need the cheese...the grease...or the bread. But I'm a sucker for Paul's. But 2 out of 3 ain't bad right? right?

Monday Funday!
Hello!
Prior to starting my EvoFit Loser challenge I purchased some yoga classes on Living Social. I am literally addicted to Living Social and I am obsessed with their amazing deals. This deal got me 5 yoga classes at Smithtown Hot Yoga. Granted this is over an hour drive from my house, but it happens to also be very close to another one of my favorite places, Barnes & Noble, so I just make sure I can hit both in the same trip and it is so worth it!
So this morning, after a delicious breakfast of two eggs over easy, a small bit of french baguette, a cheery greek yogurt, and some grape fruit juice; I headed west for my daily exercise!
This was my second week of yoga with Rob. He is absolutely phenomenal and I was sweating for an hour! I am keeping yoga in my weekly exercise rotation because I desperately need to improve my flexibility as well as my overall fitness, and I have yet to find a better way to do both! Though I haven't tried Mirna's CoreFlex class yet but I plan on trying it out this Wednesday at 4pm!
For lunch I had a bowl of my delicious soup that I made yesterday, and then headed back west with the boyfriend because he had a meeting in Islandia and you all know what that means....
I am a little hungry now, but Michael kept me from being tempted by mom mother's obscene collection of snacks, candies, and tasty treats in the pantry. Instead I was allowed a small hand full of raisins and peppermint tea.

DAVE AND BUSTERS TRIP!!!!
So far I have won a slow cooker, a gumball machine, a very large "We're #1" foam hand rooting for Syracuse, and a Wii from Dave and Busters. I am over half way to winning an iPad. YES, I am obsessed. But don't give me lectures on wasting my money, because I am also AMAZING at the games. An iPad retails for over $500 (plus tax and extras) and at the rate I win tickets it will cost about the same PLUS I got all the great fun. Tonight I won 5,000 tickets toward my goal of 120,000 for $20. (a rate of 250 tickets per dollar spent, not to mention I had the frequent buyer coupon of buy $20 of chips get $20 free!) (Ok, I'm really dorking out, time to get back to the point)
Dinner! I am beyond proud of myself for pulling this off. With my "buy one get one free entree" coupon Michael and I had dinner and he had a beer for $24. I had the salmon with rice and broccoli, he had the turkey sandwich with sweet potato fries. ( I confess! I ate a few of them, but I also ate all my broccoli so it evens out....right?) But I made it through a whole evening at D&B with no beer and no dessert. Also no appetizers. Usually I get all three...but I survived!
I am a little hungry now, but Michael kept me from being tempted by mom mother's obscene collection of snacks, candies, and tasty treats in the pantry. Instead I was allowed a small hand full of raisins and peppermint tea.
And of course, the precious Catniss!
So that was my day today! I will see you back at Evolution Fitness bright and early for spin at 8am! Good night!

Weekend numero uno
Hello all!
Picking up where we left off, I had an excellent evening with my friends at the Publick House Friday night! I was successful in only have one beer, but I was so hungry because I had only had 2 meals so I got a late dinner as well. While I am trying not to eat past 9-10pm (depending on how late my day is) I got the grilled Cajun chicken sandwich (which was delicious) with no cheese and a side salad instead of fries.
Saturday morning started with a wonderful cup of my father's delicious coffee with no sugar but a splash of flavored creamer.
Then I whipped up one of my delicious chocolate almond milk shakes and headed to work! The shake got me through until 4pm. I then went for a run with my dad around town, really tried to kick it in hard at the end. We were out for 32.5 minutes.
I had a plate of pasta, diced tomatoes, broccoli, and some Parmesan cheese. Later when Michael got home from work I had a very small slice of DiGiorno pizza with him and then splurged on dessert with 6 sour punch straws. I should let you know that blue sour candy is completely irresistible to me.
This picture makes me want to quite dieting and become a professional blue sour candy eater. That's a real thing right?
It wasn't ready until quite late so it will be lunch/dinner/breakfast/snack for the next week. (I made a lot...a LOT a lot.)
I did not get a hard work out in today, but I did have a wonderful recovery day with my brother and Michael. We went to Pumpkin Town and enjoyed some roasted corn, apple cider, AMAZING apples (literally the best I've had in my life) and it was so fun!! I did splurge on one apple donut but it was heavenly.
We also stopped by Duckwalk for a wine tasting with my favorite Duckwalk man, Mike! We had fun swirling, sniffing, and sipping our way through the wine list. I think we are close to connoisseurs at this point. I had a serving of pasta and sauce with ground turkey for dinner, a small ripped off hank of French bread and a glass of red wine for dinner. Then we did some cleaning and now it is time for one more cute picture of my hamster and then off to bed!
Good night to all! I plan on kicking my butt in the gym tomorrow, so be sure to check back for more sweaty, grungy, painful pictures of me tomorrow! I'll throw in some more cute hamster pictures to spice it up a bit though, don't worry.
Peace.

Just kidding, I didn't drink my hamster. She just looked way too cute in this mug.

My favorite candy EVER
This picture makes me want to quite dieting and become a professional blue sour candy eater. That's a real thing right?
But I digress.
This morning I woke up early because the boyfriend and I were singing in church! It was a wonderful service, I absolutely love singing for people and I am truly enjoy any opportunity I have to perform. His mom was the fill in/guest pianist and music leader for the day and we sang All Good Gifts (which Michael nailed!) and then we did a mash-up of Prepare Ye and Bless the Lord! I love performing, but even more so I love rocking out in church, so it was a double win. We had a lovely time and then went to Sin'n'Soda for brunch! I had 2 eggs over easy, rye toast, ham and potatoes. (It was not the french toast and bacon I wanted to order but so good...and probably not that much healthier but the little things!....well I probably should have skipped the toast and potatoes...I'll get there someday!)
I went out for a grocery shopping run with the padre and let me tell you- I bought out the produce aisle. Mushrooms, carrots, celery, spinach, garlic, onions, strawberries, plums, parsnips (nerdy carrots as Michael calls them), turnips, potatoes and even and eggplant! I have never purchased an eggplant before in my life. I'm not really sure what I am going to do with it but I will tell you, it felt really good to buy it, haha. I threw everything into a pot, added a pinch of everything in the spice cabinet, and this is what came out.
Yum!

Hello!
Today started verrrrry early. 8am spin with Andre and then 9am Evofit with Jason! Both classes were excellent, challenging, and made me sweat like crazy! Spin was a great way to start the morning, cardio and intervals. Then the Evofit intervals kept my body guessing as we switched from rowing, running, body bar, dumb bells, arms, legs, and balance! It was awesome and the hour blew by because we were on to a new thing every 60 seconds. Visit their website for more info on all of their classes!
For my meals I had:
So today was simply fantastic! I'm on track and ready for the weekend. I will confess that I'm on my way to hang out with some friends at the Publick House and I don't think I'll be able to resist one pumpkin ale! But I'll do some extra crunches when I get home I promise ;)
Thanks to all for following my progress! See you tomorrow!

For my meals I had:
Breakfast!
My new version of the milkshake! Chocolate almond milk, a banana, 2 tablespoons of crunchy peanut butter, a tablespoon of Michael's protein powder, and a teaspoon of cinnamon. Add lots of ice and blend! It tasted better than a regular milkshake and I didn't even feel guilty about it!
Lunch!
Sushi! Went to Mt. Fuji with my wonderful friend Khristin and had a lovely time. Had a salad with ginger dressing, lemongrass seafood soup (saved half for the boyfriend) and a spicy tuna roll and a sweet potato roll. In retrospect I should have gotten a healthier roll than the sweet potato roll since it comes tempura, but everything else was on track!
Dinner!
My mom made a delicious dinner. For a woman who did absolutely zero cooking while I was growing up, this evening was simply inspired! Pork chops, mashed potatoes (which I made with very little butter), corn, spinach and just one half a slice of garlic bread. So today was simply fantastic! I'm on track and ready for the weekend. Food!
Hello! Thanks for checking back in, this post includes the day's meals, exercise, and some really fun pictures of me making really weird faces.

Photos by Mani Hansana-Cofield (oh to be in a lovely shape as she! A definite role model for me in this challenge and such a supportive coach too!)
In an effort to do a complete health make-over I am also keeping track of my diet.
Breakfast:
Real stovetop oatmeal with nutmeg, cinnamon, and walnuts! Also had some chocolate almond milk and OJ.
Had a delightful cup of coffee with a splash of whole milk (no sugar)
Then for lunch had a tiny slice of pizza (trying to cut back without going cold turkey so I don't fall off the wagon ya know!), half a turkey and cheddar cheese sandwich on wheat (mustard, no mayo!) and a bunch of cauliflower and broccoli with a bit of cheese on it. Also had a vanilla coke zero, not sure if that was a great idea wholistically speaking but it was at least calorie free! Must get more seltzer though, thats the best bet.
For dinner I had a small glass of chocolate almond milk, a small serving of salmon and some mixed sautéed veggies. I also had another killer workout at musical rehearsal!
I am also choreographing the Riverhead Faculty Community Theater production of 9 to 5! The whole cast is doing a wonderful job and tonight I got to "tap" into my tap dancing skills for a really fun version of "One Of The Boys" with some stellar tap dancers. You will not want to miss this show!
And now I am home, watching episodes of The Office with my best/boy friend Michael Contino and drinking some splendid lemon herbal tea.
Thank you for reading! Be sure to follow my blog to stay posted on my journey to fitness and all the weird and silly photos, videos, and hyperlinks that come with it!
Good night!
